Caspia Home app privacy policy

What personal data the Caspia Home app processes, where it is stored, who we share it with and how to ask for deletion.

Česká verze: Ochrana osobních údajů v aplikaci Caspia Home.

This policy applies to the Caspia Home app for Android, iOS, Mac, Windows and its web version. The data controller is Caspia Tech s.r.o., company ID 03035263, Pražákova 1008/69, Brno, Czech Republic. For anything about your data, write to info@caspiatech.cz.

1. Sign-in

You sign in with the username and password for your home. Your account is created by our technician and stored on the server in your home. The app has no registration of its own and no sign-in with Apple or Google. The phone keeps your username, the address of your home and a sign-in key, so you do not have to enter the password again and again (not the password itself). The app also keeps a temporary copy of the home data it displays, for example rules and the floor plan.

2. Data about your home

Device states, measurement history, home rules and conversations with the Assistant are stored on the server in your home. The app only displays them and sends your commands to the home. This includes who is at home: the app does not detect it, the home does, from phones connected to the home network.

When you control your home from outside, commands and states pass through our server in Germany, which only forwards them.

Once a week we back up the configuration and data of your home (settings, history, rules and Assistant conversations) to our backup server in the Czech Republic. Backups are encrypted and we keep the oldest ones for at most three years, so that we can restore the home even after a long time. Our technicians have service access to the home for maintenance, updates and repairs you ask for.

3. Caspia Assistant

This applies only to homes with Caspia Assistant. The text of your question goes from the home through our server to the Google Gemini service, which prepares the answer. Along with the question goes what the Assistant needs to know about the home: rules, names of rooms and devices and results of history queries, which may include who was at home.

We do not store the text of questions on our server. We record only usage: the home, the model used, the amount of text processed and the time. When a call fails, we store a short beginning of the service response with the error; in rare cases it may contain part of the Assistant’s answer. The conversation stays in your home, up to 200 messages. It is shared by the whole home and all users of the home can see it. We delete it at the request of the home owner (section 8).

Google processes questions as our processor. For the paid service we use, its terms say it does not use them to improve its products or to train models. It keeps them for a limited period only to detect abuse of the service and may process them outside the European Union. Details are in the Gemini API terms.

4. Support requests

When you confirm sending a support request in the app, we send the request text, your username, the app and module version, the necessary data from the home and up to five images you choose to our task system. They are used only to resolve your request.

5. Usage statistics

To know what people use in the app, we record the screens viewed, a few types of events (for example control, mode change, a question to the Assistant), the app version, the platform and the name of the home, by which your home can be identified. The statistics server itself also records the device type, system, browser, language and screen resolution. We do not send names of people or the content of the home, and we do not use cookies. Statistics run on our own server (Umami), not with an advertising or analytics company. We do not store the IP address; on receipt we only derive the country, region and city from it. You can turn statistics off in the app Settings with the switch “Pomáhat s vylepšováním aplikace” (Help improve the app).

The app does not send crash reports and does not use notifications from Google or Apple. It downloads updates by itself from our website, and our server sees the phone’s IP address when it does.

6. Phone permissions

On Android the app needs only internet access and network state, on iOS access to the local network to find your home. It has no access to location, camera, microphone, contacts or photos. You choose an image for a support request yourself in the system file picker.

7. Who we share data with

We do not sell data and do not use it for advertising. These processors help us:

The backup server in the Czech Republic is our own.

8. Deleting your account and data

Your account: email info@caspiatech.cz from the address you have registered with us. Within 30 days we will delete your account in the home and your support requests. Assistant conversations are shared by the whole home and we delete them at the request of the home owner. This data may remain in older backups of the home until they expire, at most three years.

The whole home: when a home stops using Caspia, at the request of the home owner we will also delete remote and Assistant access and the backups of the home on our server within 30 days.

We currently keep usage statistics and Assistant usage records without a fixed period; on request we will delete them for your home. Data that stays in your home belongs to you.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to know what data we process about you, to access it, have it corrected or deleted, restrict its processing and object to it. If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can contact the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (www.uoou.cz).

This policy is effective from 2026-11-07.
